I appeared on the Ali G Show, and wrote a piece for the Independent on being hijacked by him. I have twice visited Mount Athos, as has Prince Charles, and I wrote for The Mail on what he might have experienced there. I worked for a while for Leonard Cheshire, VC - and knew his wife Sue Ryder well enough to feel able to write her obituary for the Independent.

I have always been interested - as are most writers - in the "condition of England". UK Id looked at that - it was written in 1994 and part of it appeared in the Independent..
